FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 27th - 263,352 ounces of water left Huntington Beach for Ellis and Navarro Counties in Texas. That included 623 packages of water (which took into count, 382 cases, 234 gallons and two gallon containers)!
Also on the truck was: 214 packages of food, 158 packages of personal hygiene (which included 40 cases of diapers) and cleaning supplies (35 cases of Simple Green) and 68 packages of home goods (which included a pallet of firewood).
Unity Impact put out a call ... and like ALWAYS, Huntington Beach did not disappoint. Fountain Valley even kicked in! Way to go partnering cities. We love working together!
Thank you to the crew at Albertsons - Newland Center. The response from Tony, Ryan and their team was indescribable! Our volunteers were in constant awe of the support Albertsons employees and their co-workers gave on behalf of our #HBHelpsTexasAgain effort.
Appreciation to the amazing restaurants that fed us throughout the day: Duck Donuts, That Epic Burrito Shack, Surf City Ale House, 2nd Floor and Round Table in Newland Center. Our crew was never hungry and kept their energy up because the business owners and managers kept us fueled. It was a yummy day for our volunteers, that's for sure!
Huge thanks go out to Timco Logistics Systems and Kelly and Mike Sisneros for always coming alongside Unity Impact when wanting to help. We couldn't do this "truck run" without you, that's for sure! I love you both personally and know my team does too!
We hope the residents of Ellis and Navarro Counties enjoy the heart felt love and efforts that are riding on that truck. The "ounces of love" from our HB CommUnity to y'all in Texas simply can't be measured! The people of Surf City were blessed to "pour into" the people of Texas!
With our HBHelpsTexasAgain love,
~ The Unity Impact Team and Volunteers
January 2021:
Unity Impact received quite a few mail pieces for our Just for You Project over the holidays ... so we thought we might extend it through Valentine's Day.
The Just for You Project collects meaningful communications, through cards, letters or artwork ... and forwards it to our seniors living alone during this pandemic time. What a nice surprise to get a piece of postal mail from a friendly HB neighbor ... when you least expect it!
Cards were dispersed to seniors in the living facilities that participated in the "Just for You" Project.
December 2020 :
Just because we’re social distancing doesn’t mean we need to practice emotional distancing, too. In fact, it’s more important than ever for those who need to quarantine as much as possible to still feel the love.
To stay connected while we are staying at home, Unity Impact launched our "Just for You" Holiday Project.
Just for You was a two week card sending effort to bring smiles to those who were alone during this pandemic holiday season.
Cards were dispersed to those in living facilities participating in the "Just for You" Project.
May & June 2020:
"Stacy, thank you and your team for helping with this amazing, unifying effort to support our businesses. I was filled with pride at how the community stepped up to protect our business owners against another potentially heartbreaking loss. You are to be commended for your role and I am deeply appreciative."
~ Lyn Semeta, Mayor of Huntington Beach 2020
Thank you very much Mayor Semeta, but you may direct your round of applause to the citizens of Huntington Beach! They say it "takes a village" and HB proved we've got what it takes! Our goal at Unity Impact, over the past 20 days, was to come alongside downtown business owners to cover the impromptu costs of of protecting their livelihood after being financially impacted during the COVID-19 pandemic. Residents rallied to the cause and monies were raised to address those expenditures.

April 2020:
On March 15th, 2020, the governor of California ordered all "non-essential" businesses to close down in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although the intention at the time was to "flatten the curve" so as to not overwhelm our healthcare system, the impact on those who work in "non-essential" industries was fiscally and emotionally catastrophic.
Profits, from a nationwide sale of "ESSENTIAL" merchandise, offered through a local HB merchant, was gifted to Unity Impact. Those proceeds, in addition to monies collected from our online driven fundraiser, were used to support those impacted by a loss of income. Close to $3000 was distributed to local residents who needed help.
The profession people chose may or may have not, been deemed essential at the time, but the human spirit is always essential; Unity Impact stood with those in the time of uncertainty.
The Essential Movement was about ALL OF US!!
November 2019:
The Inaugural Huntington Beach Mayor's Ball was held on November 23, 2019 at the Waterfront Resort in Huntington Beach. It was a charity event which honored our outgoing Mayor, Mr. Erik Peterson and the nonprofits which he chose to bless. Over 260 people were in attendance and thousands were raised for our recipients.
This year's charities:

January 2019:
This was a community effort bringing together the compassionate residents and businesses of Huntington Beach, in support of our neighbors who have been impacted by the government shutdown.
Let us clarify ...
It had NOTHING to do with politics, and EVERYTHING to do with offering a hand to those in our community.
This was the longest shutdown on record. Food was needed to feed our children, utility bills were due, rent money was needed, humans and animals need medical care, etc. Sadly, the lists are long.
Thank you to the residents who asked for assistance. Over $500 in needs were gifted to those who needed help.
November 2018:
Cards for Cali was a community event, which brought together the compassionate residents of Huntington Beach, and it's surrounding areas, in support of the victims of the November 2018 California Fires.
Gift cards were accepted to assist the many lives that were forever altered due to the fire devastation!
All types of gift cards were accepted, as everything was needed by those impacted.
Because not all gift cards are "marked" with a value, it was difficult to determine the total raised for the families of Paradise, California. Unity Impact estimates between $2000-3000.00.
Donation was made to the Paradise Rotary Club for distribution to the city's residents.
October 2017:
The purpose of this candlelight prayer vigil was for our community to come together to mourn and honor the lives lost in Las Vegas during the massacre at the Route 91 Harvest Festival, to stand in solidarity with the survivors, to heal as a community, and to open up dialog.
Unity Impact organized a candlelight vigil held in Huntington Beach on Sunday, October 8th at 6:30 pm. The names of the victims were read by members of the community as we honored the lives they lived. Media coverage of the event can be found on our "media" page!
Families impacted by the Vegas shooting were offered financial assistance, through contributions made to Unity Impact during the vigil and following the event.

September 2017:
Thank you to the two amazing Huntington Beach residents who began this great venture: Misty Blu and Candice Kay. Women with family in Texas, who they wished to help. What started as a "van full of stuff" for Texas, grew into a HB CommUNITY effort and convoy of trucks going to Texas on a Monday evening.
Unity Impact was honored to be involved in this project. Our goal was not only to spread the word of the #HBHelpsHouston efforts, but to continue to provide help for those that needed assistance both locally and beyond.
If you have any question, please call us or message us through our online contact form.
